Experiencing FUN in the SON.   The kick-off service is Saturday, July 31st with a cookout/swimming party @ 3:30-7:30 p.m. at the State Campground Pool (I-81). Then on Sunday, August 1st @ 10:30 a.m. in the Power Zone. The regular VBS will start on Monday-Wednesday, August 2-4 @ 7:00-8:30 p.m.

This Sunday is Missions Sunday and our special offering will go towards our
Colombian Missions Project which is to plant a church in Bogota.
We have already raised $1,200 towards our goal of $2,400.

Responsibilities of churches with federal taxes, how to handle minister’s compensation, housing allowance, and how to report minister’s compensation and housing both for the church and minister.

Reasons:

• Most churches report compensation incorrectly.
• When churches fail to file appropriate forms with IRS, they pay large penalties and interest.
• Many ministers fail to get all the deductions that apply to them and also report things that are not deductable.
• This conference helps everyone to know what is deductible and where to put the deductions on the tax forms.  Since ministerial taxes are so different from regular taxes, accountants may not know what or how to report this compensation.
